Introducing the Marstek Venus D: home solar storage at the next level

Today we’re taking an important step on our mission to bring the advantages of solar energy to all families. As a first in Southern Europe, we’re launching the Marstek Venus D modular solar storage system. Built for true home-scale energy, it supports up to 4 kW of solar input and expandable storage up to 15.36 kWh. This is a significant upgrade to our current top-of-the-range Plus 2000 solar kits, as it doubles the installed capacity and combines it with a smart storage system.

What is the Marstek Venus D?

The Marstek Venus D is a modular solar storage system designed for new or existing solar installations. It can work with or without solar panels wired directly.

It acts as a plug-in system through a bidirectional Schuko cable. This lets you charge from the grid or from your existing solar installation without changing your whole setup.

At a glance, the Marstek Venus D offers:

• 4 kW of solar input (PV) across 4 MPPT
  
• Connection for up to 8 solar panels directly to the main unit
  
• 2,200 W of AC output for your home consumption
  
• Backup mode to keep essential devices running during power cuts
  
• Expandable storage up to 15.36 kWh with battery modules
  

The main unit does not include a battery. It needs expansion modules to store energy, so you only add as much capacity as you really need.

How does the Marstek Venus D work with your solar installation and the grid?

The Marstek Venus D is flexible by design. It can store energy from:

• Solar panels connected directly to the main unit
  
• Your existing solar installation, connecting it to your home network
  
• The grid, when electricity prices are lower , even if you have no solar installation
  

You can:

• Connect up to 8 panels directly to the Venus D and use its 4 MPPT inputs to get up to 4 kW of solar power input.
  
• Let it store surplus energy from your current solar system via the Schuko cable, even if the battery is plugged into another outlet in your home.
  
• Charge from the grid in off-peak hours and use that energy later, when your tariff is more expensive.
  

Smart charging modes use your consumption pattern, your solar production and your tariff to decide when to charge and when to discharge.

With up to 15.36 kWh of storage, the Marstek Venus D can keep your essential devices running day and night using solar energy, instead of pulling power from the grid.

How much can you store with the Marstek Venus D?

The Marstek Venus D is designed to grow with your energy needs. Storage is modular and fully expandable. You start with the main unit and at least one expansion battery. Each additional expansion battery adds 2.56 kWh of storage capacity.

• 1 × expansion battery → 2.56 kWh
  
• 6 × expansion batteries → 15.36 kWh total storage
  

You can increase storage capacity over time, as your needs increase. No construction work or changes to your electrical installation are required.

Smart control of the Marstek Venus D with Smart Meter, Smart Box and the app

The Marstek Venus D works with the Marstek Smart Meter. Together, they:

• Measure your home’s energy flows in real time
  
• Decide when to store, release or stop energy
  
• Help you avoid exporting surplus to the public grid (zero-export)
  

From the Marstek app, you can:

• Monitor production, consumption, storage and savings.
  
• Choose between self-consumption, AI-based optimisation, manual schedules or backup mode.
  
• Adjust behaviour with a few taps on your phone.
